We don't sell food. We're an information and guidance service. If we link to food delivery services, you're buying from them, not us.
We provide nutrition information and guidance, NOT medical advice. Always consult a qualified doctor or healthcare professional for medical decisions, especially if you're pregnant, have health conditions, or are planning significant diet changes.
Our AI and nutrition experts offer general guidance. They're helpful, but they're not substitutes for personalized medical care from your doctor.
We take your privacy seriously. Here's what you should know:
We're registered with Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and follow the Data Protection Act, 2019.
We keep at least one copy of your data on servers in Kenya, as required by law.
You can access, correct, download, or delete your data anytime. Just ask!

By accessing or using Obu Eats's website, mobile applications, APIs, or other services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Obu Eats KE, a company registered in the Republic of Kenya.
Obu Eats offers tools to help users in Kenya discover recipes, track nutritional intake, generate personalized meal plans, and receive nutrition guidance powered by AI models and qualified human nutrition experts.
Important: Obu Eats is a guidance and information service. We are not a medical provider and do not provide medical diagnoses or treatment.
Our AI models generate recommendations based on information you provide and our training data. Qualified nutritionists, dietitians, or health coaches may review or supplement recommendations where available.
Because the Service relies on algorithmic models and third-party data, results are probabilistic and should be treated as guidance. For clinical, medical, or complex dietary needs, always consult qualified healthcare professionals registered with relevant Kenyan authorities.
To use certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, all activities under your account, and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.
We recommend using strong, unique passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication when available.
As a service operating in Kenya, we comply with the Data Protection Act, 2019 and have registered with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Data Protection Act, 2019. In compliance with Kenyan law:
Per Article 260 of the Constitution of Kenya, a child is any person under 18. We require verified parental consent to process children's data and do not market weight-loss products to minors.
We may integrate third-party services. Cross-border data transfers comply with Section 48 of the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Obu Eats does not sell, supply, or deliver food products. If we partner with merchants or provide ordering links, transactions are between you and the merchant. We are not the seller unless explicitly stated.
By submitting content (recipes, photos, comments), you grant Obu Eats a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute the content. You agree not to post content that violates privacy, contains hate speech, infringes intellectual property, or is illegal under Kenyan law.
Obu Eats owns all intellectual property rights including software, designs, trademarks, logos, original recipes, and databases. Protection is provided under Kenyan law including the Copyright Act (Cap. 130) and Trade Marks Act (Cap. 506).

Service may include third-party links. We do not endorse or control these and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, products, or services. Review third-party terms before use.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY KENYAN LAW:
Limitations do not affect rights under Consumer Protection Act, 2012 or mandatory Kenyan law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Obu Eats from claims arising from your Terms violations, Service misuse, third-party rights violations, or posted content.

Breach Notification: We notify ODPC within 72 hours and affected users within reasonable time, providing breach details, consequences, and remedial measures.
We may suspend/terminate accounts for Terms violations, fraudulent activity, legal requirements, or service discontinuation (with notice).
You may delete your account via app settings or support@obueatske.com. Upon deletion:
Terms governed by laws of Republic of Kenya. Disputes subject to exclusive jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.
We may update Terms to reflect service changes, legal requirements, or clarity improvements.
For material changes:
Continued use indicates acceptance. Disagreement requires Service cessation and may include account deletion request.
